Building Immunity & Community, One Sip at a Time

Our Story

Drink Folks began as a love letter to the women who raised me and the women who welcomed me across oceans.

As a first-generation Asian American, I grew up between worlds, rooted in my grandmothers’ stories of perseverance, strength, and devotion. Years later, that longing for connection led me back to Southeast Asia, where I spent two years meeting with women farmers, healers, and medicine makers who had preserved jamu, an ancient, plant-based wellness practice for more than 1,300 years.

I learned their recipes, but more importantly, I listened to their lives. Their resilience, humor, and quiet power transformed how I saw wellness, community, and business itself. Drink Folks was built for them; for the women who carry the wisdom of the land, and for everyone seeking to feel grounded, cared for, and alive.

Each bottle serves as a bridge between past and present, between self and community. Made with roots like turmeric, ginger, and galangal, every sip carries forward a lineage of healing and gives back to the women who continue it through our FolksFund, which reinvests in women-led farms and nonprofits across Southeast Asia.

This is more than what we drink, it is who we become when we remember where we come from.

Thank You for Being Here

This story begins with the women who showed me what healing truly means.

After years of chasing success and searching for meaning, I found myself sitting on the floor of a small kitchen in Java, learning to make jamu by hand. That moment revealed that wellness lives in ritual, in rhythm, in relationship.

DrinkFolks exists as a way to honor that rhythm, and the women who trusted me with it. It is a brand born from friendship, from fieldwork, from faith in community. Every decision, every partnership, every bottle continues their story.

This is for them, and for everyone who believes healing, like love, is meant to be shared.
